Review of Chicago Reader's Review of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice

"Not as good as Clinton v Trump....which doesn't say much for this review"

Hardy, har, har.  I suppose we're supposed to laugh at J.R. Jones' comparison of Batman v Superman to the Bush v Gore election.  I'm sorry.....were you going to elaborate Mr. Jones?  I would think the "most reliable movie critic in America" would have something more to say about the movie other than give a synopsis that doesn't really even accuractly describe the movie or show that Jones has any insight into the characters.

"Rehashes his origin story yet again" implies that the movie dedicates any portion of its story retelling Batman's origin rather than relegating it to a brief opening sequence which successfully gets that very relevant foundation out of the way for the real story.

Perhaps Jones didn't understand why Batman was in a "crabby mood".  And I can't say I really understand what he means when he says Eisenberg contributes "arch line readings".  But suggesting Irons added the requisite touch of fake class tells us that Jones is both unfamiliar with this movie's Alfred and the ex-Royal Air Force/ex-British Secret Service operative Alfred used as inspiration.

This review is being billed as a "reliable" assessment of the second installment in a DC Comics "extended universe" franchise in a long line of "reliable" reviews.  Maybe we should start requiring reviewers to scan images of their ticket stubs as proof that they actually watched the movies they are critiquing.
